Tattoo academy policies
1. Course Overview
1.1 The Course is a private, in-person training program designed to introduce the fundamentals of tattooing, hosted by Vesna Academy.
1.2 The Course includes live instruction, demonstrations, theory, and practical assignments.
2. Enrollment and Eligibility
2.1 Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
2.2 No prior experience is required, but the Student must be committed to learning and participating actively.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Each Block is priced at $1,400 CAD. Students who choose to pay for the full 3-Block program in advance may do so at the discounted total price of $4,000 CAD. A non-refundable deposit (50% of the first Block = $700) is required to secure a spot in the course. This deposit is non-refundable except in cases where the course is cancelled or materially changed by Vesna Academy.
This deposit may only be refunded if cancellation occurs in writing no later than 14 days (two weeks) prior to the scheduled start date of the course. Any cancellation after this period will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Each subsequent Block must be paid in full at the rate of $1,400 CAD per Block, no later than one (1) week prior to the scheduled start date of that Block, unless otherwise approved in writing by Vesna Academy.
3.2 The remaining balance of the first Block ($700) must be paid in full according to the payment plan chosen by the student or the third-party financing provider, if applicable a week prior the first day of the course.
3.3 If the student chooses to finance the course through a third-party credit provider, the student acknowledges and agrees that:
- Vesna Academyis not a party to this credit agreement.
- Vesna Academy bears no responsibility or liability for the terms, conditions, approval, or enforcement of the financing agreement.
- Any issues related to the financing agreement, including but not limited to missed payments, defaults, interest rates, or repayment terms, are solely between the student and the credit provider.
- The student remains responsible for ensuring timely payment to the credit provider as per their separate agreement. Payments are made directly to the credit provider according to their terms and conditions.
3.4 The student understands that any financial arrangement made with a credit provider is entirely their responsibility, and any issues with that agreement do not affect the terms or obligations of participation in the Vesna Academy training course.
3.5 All tuition fees must be paid in accordance with the agreed schedule. Late or missed payments may result in missing classes or dismissal from the course without refund.
4.Cancellation and Rescheduling
4.1 Course sessions occur on a fixed schedule and cannot be individually rescheduled.
4.2 Students cannot transfer to another group or schedule.
4.3 If the Student misses a class for personal reasons, the class will not be refunded.
4.4 In cases of illness or emergency, the Student may join online, with the understanding that practical exercises will be missed and must be completed independently. Homework will still be reviewed. If the Student cannot attend either in-person or online, the class is forfeited without refund.
4.5 Vesna Academy reserves the right to remove any student from the course due to disruptive behavior, or violation of studio rules.
4.6 No Refunds for Missed Classes or Incomplete Participation
The Student understands and agrees that no refunds or partial credits will be issued for missed classes, voluntary withdrawal, or failure to complete the program.
5. Materials and Equipment
5.1 Vesna Academy will provide basic training materials required for participation in the course sessions conducted at the studio. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Art supplies if needed (such as pencils, markers, and sketch paper)
- Tattoo equipment for in-studio use if needed (such as tattoo machines, needles, fake skin, practice setups.
- Sanitary supplies and disposables for practical exercises
5.2 These materials are provided for use only during scheduled studio sessions and will not be distributed for personal or at-home use.
5.3 The student is solely responsible for any at-home practice, including the safety, hygiene, and appropriateness of the equipment and materials they choose to use. Vesna Academy does not supervise at-home activities and holds no liability for injuries, infections, or undesired outcomes resulting from unsupervised practice.
5.4 Vesna Academy may provide a list of recommended additional tools and materials for students to acquire on their own if they wish to deepen their skills outside of class. These are not mandatory but may improve the learning experience.
5.5 The student understands that all in-studio equipment is to be used under supervision only and must follow all hygiene and safety instructions provided during the course.
​6. Certification
6.1 Upon completion, the Student will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate is not an official license nor an academic diploma.
6.2 The Student understands that this is a private educational course provided by a professional tattoo artist. It is not a government-accredited program and does not issue diplomas recognized by the province. Upon completion, the Student may receive a Certificate of Completion for personal record purposes only.
​7. Limitation of Expectations and Disclaimer
7.1 Vesna Academy does not guarantee employment, income, or tattooing success after course completion.
7.2 Results may vary depending on the Student’s effort, practice, and commitment.
8. Code of Conduct
8.1 The Student agrees to behave professionally, respectfully, and cooperatively during all classes.
8.2 Disrespectful, aggressive, or unethical behavior may result in dismissal without refund.
8.3 If a student is removed from the course due to misconduct, repeated non-compliance with safety protocols, lack of participation, or unpaid fees, their participation may be terminated immediately and permanently. In such cases, no refunds, credits, rescheduling, or makeup sessions will be offered, and the student will not be eligible to continue or re-enter the program.
9. Intellectual Property, Use Restrictions and Confidentiality
9.1 All course materials, content, techniques, procedures, presentations, exercises, reference images, photos, videos, tools, documents, and all associated intellectual property provided during the training (whether delivered in person or digitally) are the exclusive property of Vesna Academy.
9.2 The Student acknowledges that these materials and methods are provided for personal learning only and may not be copied, reproduced, recorded, published, distributed, transferred, or used to create derivative works in any form, including (but not limited to) teaching others, creating similar educational programs, or offering paid or unpaid instruction, without prior written permission from Vesna Academy.
9.3 The Student agrees not to disclose, share, or discuss any proprietary information, business practices, strategies, pricing structures, client communication systems, teaching methods, or internal materials with third parties, including other students not enrolled in the same program.
9.4 Any breach of this section may result in immediate termination from the course without refund and may lead to legal action and/or financial damages.
9.5 The Student agrees not to record any part of the course (including video, audio, or screen captures) without prior written permission. Any unauthorized recording may result in legal action.
10. Instructor’s Right to Terminate Training
10.1 Vesna Academy reserves the right to terminate a student’s participation for misconduct, violation of these policies, or unpaid fees. No refunds will be given in such cases.
10.2 In case of gross negligence, intentional damage to property, or defamation against Vesna Academy, the Company reserves the right to pursue financial compensation or legal action.
11. Working with Human Skin and Safety
11.1 The student understands and agrees that the training includes practical work on human skin under professional supervision, and that this is a standard part of the course curriculum.
11.2 The student agrees to strictly follow all safety, hygiene, and procedural guidelines provided by the instructor and the studio. Any failure to do so may result in removal from the program without refund.
11.3 The student acknowledges that all practical tattooing on human skin is performed at their own responsibility, even when under supervision, and that any mistakes, undesired outcomes, or complications resulting from such practice are not the responsibility of Vesna Academy or its instructors.
11.4 The student agrees to treat any human models with professionalism and care, following all safety procedures and with full respect.
11.5 The student understands that human models are informed participants, aware that the procedure is performed by a student in a training environment. We provide models only when possible, but students may also be responsible for finding their own models.
11.6 Vesna Academy and its instructors do not guarantee the final quality of any tattooing performed by students, and are not liable for any aesthetic or medical consequences resulting from student work.
11.7 The Student is responsible for ensuring that any personal model they bring has signed a written informed consent form. Vesna Academy provides models only as a courtesy and assumes no liability for outcomes or complications related to work on models.
11.8 The Student is solely responsible for ensuring that any tattoo practice or services conducted outside of this training program comply with all applicable provincial, municipal, and federal laws and regulations. A sample informed consent form will be provided by us and must be signed by any model before a procedure.
12. Liability and Waiver of Responsibility
12.1 The student agrees that all participation in this training program, including theoretical instruction and practical exercises (on fake skin, themselves, or human models), is undertaken voluntarily and at their own risk.
12.2 Vesna Academy and its instructors shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, infection, or other physical or mental harm that may occur during or after participation in the course, provided that proper safety procedures and guidelines were presented to the student.
12.3 The student understands that tattooing involves contact with needles, blood, bodily fluids, and potential exposure to cross-contamination risks, and agrees to comply with all provided safety protocols and studio hygiene standards.
12.4 The student waives any claim against Vesna Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, and affiliates in the event of any damage to their own health, belongings, or tattoo equipment due to misuse, neglect, or failure to follow safety instructions.
12.5 We guarantee that all training is conducted in a sanitary and professionally maintained environment and that all equipment provided during the course is in working condition and intended for educational use. However, we are not responsible for misuse of such equipment by the student.
13. Release for Use of Student Work and Photos
The student grants Vesna Academy permission to photograph or video record their participation in the course, including their tattoo work, for educational or promotional purposes. The student waives any right to compensation or approval in connection with such use.
​14. Force Majeure / Unforeseen Events
Vesna Academy shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, government restrictions, epidemics, or other emergencies. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide equivalent training, but no refunds will be issued for delays caused by force majeure events.
15. Jurisdiction Clause
These course policies are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any matters arising in connection with Vesna Academy programs shall be handled under the jurisdiction of the Province of Ontario.
16. Legal Framework
16.1 These course policies summarize the full understanding between the Student and Vesna Academy regarding participation in Vesna Academy programs, including the key terms and expectations already discussed.
16.2 If any part of these course policies is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
16.3 If Vesna Academy chooses not to enforce any part of these course policies at any time, this does not waive the right to enforce it later.
17. Independent Status, and No Employment Relationship
17.1 The Student acknowledges that this course is a private educational program intended to provide knowledge and foundational tattooing skills only. It does not create any form of internship, apprenticeship, employment, or contractor agreement with Vesna Academy. All students are considered independent learners and are solely responsible for their ongoing professional development and career path.
17.2 Enrollment in this course does not entitle the Student to wages, commissions, insurance, studio rental, future work opportunities, or any employment-related benefits. Participation does not establish a job offer, a business partnership, or any future studio rental agreement with Vesna Academy.
17.3 The Student understands and agrees that this training does not include or imply any placement in Vesna Studio as a working artist, renter, or revenue-sharing collaborator. We do not offer studio space, commission-based work, or chair rental opportunities as part of this course.
17.4 Vesna Academy is under no obligation to offer post-training employment, apprenticeships, certifications (except the certificate of completion provided for the Course), studio access, or business support to the Student. Upon course completion, all further career decisions and professional arrangements are solely the responsibility of the Student.
18. Additional Terms
18.1 Students understand that this course provides training in tattooing but does not guarantee employment, career advancement, or business success.
18.2 Students acknowledge that tattooing requires independent practice, and results will vary based on each student's effort, consistency, and individual skills.
18.3 Vesna Academy does not guarantee specific outcomes, artistic levels, or financial results as part of this course.
18.4 Students are responsible for ensuring that they are legally permitted to practice tattooing in their local jurisdiction after course completion.
18.5 Students agree that no refunds will be provided once the course has started, except under exceptional, instructor-approved circumstances. Any exception is at the sole discretion of Vesna Academy and does not constitute a precedent or obligation to other students.
18.6 Local Licensing Responsibility
It is solely the Student’s responsibility to verify and comply with all licensing, inspection, insurance, and legal requirements for tattooing in their city, province, or country after course completion. Vesna Academy makes no representations or guarantees regarding local eligibility to perform tattoo services.
18.7 The course curriculum, structure, and materials may be modified at the discretion of Vesna Academy without prior notice, to improve quality or adapt to changes.
18.8 Policy Acceptance
By submitting a deposit and/or making any payment toward the course, the Student acknowledges that they have reviewed, understood, and agreed to these course policies in full.
